This past fall, Lambda Chapter held our annual Anchor Games from November 7-10th. This fundraiser raised money for our philanthropy, Service for Sight. Twelve fraternities from our Greek community created teams and were coached by a few of our members. Additionally, we created a fundraising web page on DG Member Planet and sold tickets to the events which pushed our fundraising efforts even further.
The three-day event was kick-started with a Facebook photo contest promoting Delta Gamma and Service for Sight. On Tuesday night, Potbelly hosted a fundraiser donating 25% of the proceeds from the night to our philanthropy. Teams received points for ordering food and helping our cause. On Wednesday night we had a serenade competition where each team choreographed, and in some cases, wrote songs to perform on stage in a lecture hall on campus for all of us DG's
Finally, we concluded Anchor Games with a flag football tournament called "Anchor Bowl". It was held on Thursday, November 10th at the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex on campus. This year's Anchor Bowl was the first time any of our current members got to host a football tournament for the participating teams, and it went very well. The fraternities enjoyed participating, and us DG's loved coaching and helping out at the event!
